Jay Ritchie (full name: Jay Seay Ritchie; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1964 until 1968 for the Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds. He played for the Red Sox from 1964 - 1965, Braves from 1966 - 1967 and Reds in 1968. Over 5 seasons, he started 2 games, won 8 games, struck out 212 batters, and had a 3.49 ERA. Born on November 20, 1936 in Salisbury, NC, Ritchie stands 6' 4" and weighs 175 lb. He attended Granite Quarry (Granite Quarry, NC) high school. His debut was on August 4, 1964 and he played his final game on September 6, 1968. Common misspellings of his name include Jay jason Jay jim joe Seay Ritchie.
