Outfielder in Major League Baseball, and exclusively signed the Payton, Jay autographed (MLB) baseball Jay Payton, currently playing for the Baltimore Orioles. He has also played for the New York Mets, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Paders, Boston Red Sox, and Oakland Athletics. He was born on November 22, 1972 in Zanesville, Ohio.
He had studied at Zanesville High School and became a star in soccer, basketball, and baseball. He was chosen by the Mets during the first round of the 1994 amateur draft. Payton had his debut on 1998. He had a very limited duty with the team and then the Mets finally decided in 2001 to trade him to the Rockies during the 2002 midseason. He had his best season in 2003 where he was able to accomplish 28 home runs, 89 runs batted in, 181 hits, 32 doubles, .354 on base percentage, .512 slugging average, 600 at-bats, 157 games played, and a powerful .302 batting average.
He was then signed by San Diego being a free agent just at the end of the season. Payton was traded to the Oakland Athletics on July 13, 2004 for Chad Bradford. It was in 2006 when he played regularly in the outfield for the Athletics while he was able to bat a .296 average with 10 powerful home runs and 59 blazing runs batted in. He was also able to hit his 100th career home run on July 3, 2006 and made the Payton, Jay autographed (MLB) baseball as a most wanted item to many fans. Payton then agreed to sign a contract with the Baltimore Orioles on December 8, 2006.
