 Jay Walter Hilgenberg is a former National Football League center who was born on March 21, 1959 in Iowa City, Iowa. He played college football in University of Iowa where he showed his NFL potentials. He played as a center in the university and was eyed by football experts as a future member of the NFL. He finally made it to the National Football League in 1980 to play for the Chicago Bears with which he stayed until 1991. Hilgenberg also played for the Cleveland Browns in 1992 and signed a deal with the New Orleans State in 1993. He spent his last few seasons in the National Football League with the New Orleans Saints. He became part of the Pro Bowl for seven times. Hilgenberg was an integral\l part of the Chicago Bears’ victory in the Super Bowl XX in 1985. He also played for the Bears in the Division Championship games in 1984 to 1988 and in 1990. Hilgenberg wore jersey number 63 and was an All-Pro selection for seven times. He was part of the selection in 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990 to 1991. In his entire playing career, he appeared in 188 games and started all of those games.

 

At present, he works as a game analyst in the Chicago and the Bears Network’s WBBM-AM Radio.
