Christopher Jason Witten is a professional American football player for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He is from Elizabethton, Tennessee and spent his college days at the University of Tennessee.

Witten was selected by the Dallas Cowboys on the 3rd round of the 2003 NFL Draft as 69th overall. By 2004, he was already making a name for himself and made it to his first Pro Bowl. He would be a starter of the next 2 Pro Bowls as well. In 2007, in a game against the Detroit Lions, Witten tied the record for most interceptions in a game with Kellen Winslow Sr. Aside from again being a part of the Pro Bowl he also made it to the 2007 All- Pro Team. He continued playing well in 2008 but in a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Witten was suffered a broken rib thus leaving the game early. On November 27, 2008, he made his 400th career reception in a game against the Seattle Seahawks. According to NFL.com, as of week 17 of the 2009 season, Witten has 523 receptions, 5,965 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns.
