James Posey is National Basketball Association player who hails from Cleveland, Ohio. He is a small forward who started out as a high school basketball star in Chamberlin Middle School and continued to showcase his basketball prowess at Chamberlin High School. He had his college basketball career at Xavier University where he set records for scoring and rebounds. His 1, 455 points record was included among the top ten list of the said university. He was part of many championship games of the university including the Atlantic 10 Championship. He was also instrumental for the team to win the A-10 Tournament championship. His stellar college career caught the attention of a number of professional basketball agents like Andy Miller, Mark Bartelstein and Bill Duffy.

His professional career started with the Denver Nuggets who drafted him in the National Basketball Association Draft of 1999. He spent a short period with the team and then later on joined the Houston Rockets in 2002. After a season with the Rockets, he signed with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2003. He also joined the Miami Heat via trade which sent Eddie Jones to his former team, the Memphis Grizzlies. He played for the team for a few seasons and then signed the Boston Celtics. At present, he plays for the New Orleans Hornets.
