Jack Tatum has played in the National Football League for the Oakland Raiders and
Houston Oilers. He was born in Cherryville, North Carolina on November 18, 1948.
Tatum had attended Passaic High School where he played as a running back, full back, and defensive back. The New Jersey Star-Ledger named him as one of the New Jersey’s top ten defensive players of the century in 1999. When he was in college, he studied at the Ohio State University Buckeyes team. He then played as a running back and he was eventually switched as a defensive back. It was in 1970 when he was chosen as the National Defensive Player of the Year and he was also one of the top vote getters for the Heisman Trophy leading to the recognition of Jack Tatum signed black Wilson jersey.
