Ismael Valdez is a former Mexican professional baseball player in the Major League Baseball. He hails from Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Valdez pitched for numerous teams in the major leagues; Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Anaheim Angels, Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres and the Florida Marlins.
He was listed at 6 ft. 3 in. and 185 lbs. Valdez began his professional career in the Major League Baseball at the age of seventeen after signing as amateur free agent with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the minor league organization in 1991. After his three years climb in the minor league system, Valdez has made his professional debut at the age of 20 on June 15, 1994. During 1995 which was his full major league season, Valdez was able to have a record of 13-11 with an earned run average of 3.05 and 150 strikeouts. Sources say that according to Mitchell Report, Valdez is one of the eighty former and current players in the Major League Baseball that was implicated with the use of performance enhancing drugs. His final game was with the Marlins on October 1, 2005.

He played for the Dodgers from 1994 - 2000, Cubs in 2000, Angels in 2001, Mariners in 2002, Rangers from 2002 - 2003, Padres in 2004 and Marlins from 2004 - 2005. Over 12 seasons, he started 288 games, won 104 games, struck out 1173 batters, and had a 4.09 ERA. Born on August 21, 1973 in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Valdez stands 6' 3" and weighs 185 lb. He attended Cebatis #119 (Victoria, MX) high school.
