Isaiah Rider is a retired National Basketball Association player who hails from Oakland, California. He went to Encinal High School where he had his high school basketball career and moved up to University of Nevada Las Vegas. He played for the Allen County Community College and also appeared for the Antelope Valley College before entering the University of Las Vegas. During his college basketball career, he was named to an All-American second team.
He was then signed by the Minnesota Timberwolves which drafted him as a fifth pick during the National Basketball Association draft in 1993. His first year in the league was marked by a few 30 point-games which he achieved in December of the 1993 season and bagged the win in the All-Star Slam Dunk Contest. He was also named to the All-Star Rookie team in that year.
His subsequent years with the Timberwolves was marked by a 20.4 PPG in a season and he was a,ong te top scorers in the league. He was given the ESPY Award by the ESPN network for his great games. However, reviews say his attitude caused him trouble and was suspended for a month. After his stint with the Timberwolves, he joined the Portland Trail Blazers and the Los Angeles Lakers as well as the Denver Nuggets. His last season as a pro was spent with the North Texas Fresh in the American Basketball Association.

Isaiah Rider (full name: Isaiah Rider Jr.; J.R.) played Guard from 1994 until 2002 for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets. Over 9 seasons, he played 563 games, scored 9405 points (16.7 ppg) and grabbed 2166 rebounds (3.8 rpg). Rider also dished out 1535 assists (2.7 apg), made 367 steals (0.7 spg), and blocked 136 shots (0.2 bpg) during his career. Born in Oakland, California on March 12, 1971, Rider stands 6-5 and weighs 215 lbs. He attended high school at Encinal in Alameda, California and college at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 1st round (5th pick, 5th overall) of the 1993 NBA draft.
