Prior to becoming an American football offensive tackle,
Irving Humphrey Eatman attended UCLA where he was a semi-finalist twice for the Lombardi Award, three-time honorable mention All-America and two-time All-Pac 10 selection. He was on the Bruins as a senior following the 1982 season. He was selected in the 8th round of the 1983 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. But he chose to play in the USFL with the Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars. Eatman’s team was led by quarterback
Chuck Fusina. Also part of the team was Scott Fitzkee, rookie Kelvin Bryant, Sam Mills and Scott Woerner and Sean Landeta.
For the new generation, offensive tackle Hall of Fame inductees include
Ron Yary for 2001 and
Garry Zimmerman for 2008. Eatman is now part of the Oakland Raiders coaching staff as co-offensive line coach.

About Irv Eatman:
Irv Eatman (fullname: Irving Humphrey Eatman; no nicknames) played from 1986 until 1996 for the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta Falcons and Houston Oilers. He played 149 games, starting 118 of those. Born in Birmingham, AL on January 1, 1961, Eatman stands 6'7 and weighs 293 lbs. He attended college at UCLA. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 8th round (204th overall) of the 1983 NFL Draft.
