 Hunter Pence is a right fielder for the Houston Astros in the Major League Baseball. Pence is a right-handed player and was born in Fort Worth, Texas. He went to Arlington High School and was a shortstop for his school’s baseball team. It was when he played in college that Pence started to play as an outfielder. Pence went to the University of Texas at Arlington.

 

After graduating from Texas, Pence became part of the 2004 MLB draft and was selected by the Houston Astros. Pence started out his professional career playing for the minor league affiliates of the Astros and was with the Corpus Christi Hooks during the 2006 season.

 

In 2007, Pence was able to break into the Astros team in the MLB and became a center fielder for the team. His first game was against the Milwaukee Brewers. Pence first grand slam came in May of that same season during a game against the St. Louis Cardinals. By the end of that season, Pence was named into the Topps MLB Rookie All-Star Team and was considered during the NL Sporting New Rookie of the Year Award. In 2009, Pence was named into his very first All-Star selection.
