Savannah native Hubert Ginn is a retired professional football player. Ginn spent a total of nine seasons playing in the National Football League. Before turning professional, Ginn went to Florida A&M where he played collegiate football. He played in the NFL from 1970 to 1978. 

 

Ginn entered the 1970 NFL Draft and was picked by the Miami Dolphins during the seventh round of the draft. He was the 211th pick overall. Ginn was a running back. He was part of the 1972 Miami Dolphins team that went all the way to the Super Bowl VII to beat the Washington Redskins. Ginn went on to play for the Dolphins until the 1975 season. 

 

In 1976, Ginn was traded to the Oakland Raiders and stayed with the team until 1978. While playing for the Raiders, he was able to make his second Super Bowl appearance. In 1977, Ginn became part of the Raiders team that went all the way to the Super Bowl XI. The Raiders won their first Super Bowl after they defeated the Minnesota Vikings.  

 

Ginn also played for the Baltimore Colts for a short time during the 1973 season. He announced his retirement after the 1979 season.
