Howie Schultz (full name: Howard Henry Schultz; Stretch and Steeple) played first baseman from 1943 until 1948 for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati Reds. He played for the Dodgers from 1943 - 1947, Phillies from 1947 - 1948 and Reds in 1948. Over 6 seasons, he played 470 games, hit 24 home runs, drove in 163 runs, and stole 15 bases. Born on July 3, 1922 in St. Paul, MN, Schultz stood 6' 6" and weighed 200 lb. He attended Central (St. Paul, MN) high school.
