A running back in football of the National Football League, Howard Albert “Hopalong” Cassady was born in Columbus, Ohio. He spent his high school in Central High School which is already closed and played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes. HE was nicknamed the “Hopalong” because he hopped like a cowboy all over the field in his first game versus the Indiana University. HE was drafted into the National Football League Draft in 1956 as a third pick by the Detroit Lions. HE has played seven seasons for the Detroit Lions and went to the Cleveland Browns then to the Philadelphia Eagles. As an NFL player, he plays both as a running back and a wide receiver. HE has posted twenty seven touchdowns in his entire football career.
