Horace Clarke (full name: Horace Meredith Clarke; no nicknames) played second baseman and shortstop from 1965 until 1974 for the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres. He played for the Yankees from 1965 - 1974 and Padres in 1974. Over 10 seasons, he played 1272 games, hit 27 home runs, drove in 548 runs, and stole 151 bases. Born on June 2, 1940 in Frederiksted, V.I., Clarke stands 5' 9" and weighs 170 lb. He attended Christiansted (St. Croix, VI) high school. His debut was on May 13, 1965 and he played his final game on September 15, 1974. Over his career, Clarke made $111,500. Common misspellings of his name include Horace Horace horrace Meredith Clarke.
