About Hideki Irabu Memorabilia & Collectibles

Hideki Irabu is a former Major League Baseball player who hails from Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. He was born on May 15, 1969 and spent his childhood days in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture. From 1988 to 1996, he played as a pitcher in the Pacific League for the team Lotte Orions, which was later on called the Chiba Lotte Marines. According to reviews, Irabu is a speedy pitcher and throes incredible fastballs. In 1994, he had the most number of wins in the Pacific League with 27 and had 239 strikeouts.

Sources say Irabu only wants to play for the New York Yankees during the 1997 season when his rights were bought by the San Diego Padres. He was able to do so when the Padres traded him to the Yankees and after appearing in eight games in the minor systems, he was included in the New York Yankees major league roster. His Major League Baseball debut was on July 10, 1997. He spent the 1997 to 1999 seasons with the Yankees and has won two World Series rings. Still, sources say his best season in the majors was in 1998 when he recorded career-high games started, 173 innings pitched and 4.06 earned run average. He joined the Montreal Expos after the 1999 season and signed with the Texas Rangers in 2002. He had a total of six seasons in the major league before he went to retirement.
