He played for the Phillies from 1937 - 1940 and Yankees from 1944 - 1945. Over 6 seasons, he played 607 games, hit 28 home runs, drove in 331 runs, and stole 33 bases. Born on September 19, 1909 in Birmingham, AL, Martin stood 6' 2" and weighed 190 lb. He attended Ponca City (Ponca City, OK) (All Transactions) high school.
