Henry Rodríguez is originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic who was born on November 8, 1967 and played the position of outfielder in the MLB for the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, and Florida Marlins. His career spanned from 1985 to 2002, starting first with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1985 as an amatuer free agent. 10 years later in 1995, Rodriguez was traded with Jeff Treadway for Joey Eischen and Roberto Kelly to the Montreal Expos. It was with the Expos in 1996 where he earned a spot on National League All-Star team, and hit a career high of 36 home runs that season. In 1997, the Chicago Cubs picked him up for Miguel Batista, and Rodriguez stayed with the team for 3 years. He’s noted for assisting Samma Sosa reach is 66 home runs for that year, as Rodriguez batted third in the line-up.
His career with the Chicago Cubs ended in 2000 when Rodriguez was traded to the Florida Marlins for Dave Noyce and Ross Gload. However, the position too with the Marlins was shortlived, and within a year, he signed-on with the New York Yankees as a free agent. His role with the Yankees continued to be temporal, as he was released four months later in June 2001. Finally, in March of 2002, he returned to the Montreal Expos, only to be removed less than 2 months later.
