Two years after, the Boston Red Sox got him as an off waiver from the Dodgers but was soon released and granted free agency few months later. On the 1st of December 2006, he signed for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays but was not able to make it in the roster of players for the 2007 season. He returned to Korea and enlisted himself in the Korea Baseball Organization under the Kia Tigers.
