Harry Gumbert (full name: Harry Edwards Gumbert; Gunboat) played pitcher from 1935 until 1950 for the New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Giants from 1935 - 1941, Cardinals from 1941 - 1944, Reds from 1944 - 1949 and Pirates from 1949 - 1950. Over 15 seasons, he started 235 games, won 143 games, struck out 709 batters, and had a 3.68 ERA. Born on November 5, 1909 in Elizabeth, PA (All Transactions), Gumbert stood 6' 2" and weighed 185 lb.
