Harry Byrd (full name: Harry Gladwin Byrd; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1950 until 1957 for the Philadelphia Athletics, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers. He played for the Athletics from 1950 - 1953, Yankees in 1954, White Sox from 1955 - 1956, Orioles in 1955 and Tigers in 1957. Over 7 seasons, he started 108 games, won 46 games, struck out 381 batters, and had a 4.35 ERA. Born on February 3, 1925 in Darlington, SC, Byrd stood 6' 1" and weighed 188 lb.
