Happy Hairston (full name: Harold Hairston; Happy) played Forward from 1965 until 1975 for the Cincinnati Royals, Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers. Over 11 seasons, he played 776 games, scored 11505 points (14.8 ppg) and grabbed 8019 rebounds (10.3 rpg). Hairston also dished out 1268 assists (1.6 apg), made 116 steals (0.1 spg), and blocked 28 shots (0.0 bpg) during his career. Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on May 31, 1942, Hairston stood 6-7 and weighed 225 lbs. He attended high school at Erasmus Hall in Brooklyn, New York and college at New York University. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Royals in the 4th round (8th pick, 33rd overall) of the 1964 NBA draft.
