Hank Thompson (full name: Henry Curtis Thompson; no nicknames) played third baseman, second baseman and outfielder from 1947 until 1956 for the St. Louis Browns and New York Giants. He played for the Browns in 1947 and Giants from 1949 - 1956. Over 9 seasons, he played 933 games, hit 129 home runs, drove in 492 runs, and stole 33 bases. Born on December 8, 1925 in Oklahoma City, OK, Thompson stood 5' 9" and weighed 174 lb. He attended Jackson (Los Angeles, CA) high school. His debut was on July 17, 1947 and he played his final game on September 30, 1956. Over his career, Thompson made $18,000. Common misspellings of his name include Henry Curtis Hank henry Thompson thomson.
