Hal Wagner (full name: Harold Edward Wagner; no nicknames) played catcher from 1937 until 1949 for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies. He played for the Athletics from 1937 - 1944, Red Sox from 1944 - 1947, Tigers from 1947 - 1948 and Phillies from 1948 - 1949. Over 12 seasons, he played 672 games, hit 15 home runs, drove in 179 runs, and stole 10 bases. Born on July 2, 1915 in East Riverton, NJ, Wagner stood 6' 0" and weighed 165 lb. He attended Riverside (Riverside, NJ) high school. His debut was on October 3, 1937 and he played his final game on April 19, 1949.
