Gus Bell (full name: David Russell Bell; no nicknames) played outfielder from 1950 until 1964 for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Redlegs, New York Mets and Milwaukee Braves. He played for the Pirates from 1950 - 1952, Reds from 1953 - 1955, Redlegs from 1956 - 1961, Mets in 1962 and Braves from 1962 - 1964. Over 15 seasons, he played 1741 games, hit 206 home runs, drove in 865 runs, and stole 30 bases. Born on November 15, 1928 in Louisville, KY, Bell stood 6' 1" and weighed 190 lb.
