Grant Osten Waite is an Australian professional golfer born on August 11, 1964 in Palmerston North, New Zealand. He finished college at the University of Oklahoma in 1987 with a degree in Finance. Though a natural- born Australian, he has already been given US citizenship. According to the Professional Golfers’ Association’s official website, Waite weighs 185 pounds and stand 6 feet 1 inch in height. According to sources, Waite also played on the New Zealand junior soccer team.
One of his early successes is winning the Kempfer Open in 1993, his only PGA Tour victory. He also bagged the New Zealand Open and Trafalgar Capital Classic, both in 1992. An addition to his win column is the Utah Open in 1992. He missed defending the Kempfer title when his wife gave birth to their first child on the eve of the 1994 event. He had already completed the registration in the tournament site but chose to stay with his wife. He also competed against Tiger Woods in the 2000 Bell Canadian open, ending second place to Woods. He also competed in the Phoenix Open which is the second best PGA Tour Sunday round. Waite is ranked T30th in Victory Leaders on the PGA Tour.
