About Grant Fuhr Memorabilia & Collectibles
Grant Fuhr is a retired ice hockey player. He was born in Canada’s Alberta and appeared in the National Hockey League from 1981 to 2000. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003 and is currently the goaltending coach for the Phoenix Coyotes.
He appeared in the Western Hockey League for the Virginia Cougars when he was just 17 and was able to lead the team to the Memorial Cup in 1981. That same year, he was selected by theEdmonton Oilers during the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. He would play for the Oilers for a total of ten seasons. He was selected into the All-Star game in 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988 and 1989. He was awarded the Vezina Trophy in 1988 for his excellent defensive play.
Fuhr was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1991 and then to the Buffalo Sabers in 1992. He and Dominik Hasek were able to form a defensive duo that would eventually win them the William M. Jennings Trophy in the 1993 season.
Fuhr, while playing for the Oilers, would be able to clinch the Stanley Cup in 1984, 1985, 1987,1988 and 1990. He would also win the Canada Cup in 1984 and 1987.
