Gord Lane (full name: Gord Lane; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1976 until 1985 for the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders. He played for the Capitals from 1976 - 1980 and Islanders from 1980 - 1985. Over 10 seasons, he played 539 games, scored 19 goals, and made 94 assists. Born in Brandon, Manitoba on March 31, 1953, Lane stands 6-1 and weighs 190 lbs. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 9th round (134th overall) of the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft.
