Gord Dineen (full name: Gord Dineen; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1983 until 1995 for the New York Islanders, Minnesota North Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators. He played for the Islanders from 1983 - 1995, North Stars from 1988 - 1989, Penguins from 1989 - 1992 and Senators from 1993 - 1994. Over 13 seasons, he played 528 games, scored 16 goals, and made 90 assists. Born in Quebec City, Quebec on September 21, 1962, Dineen stands 6-0 and weighs 195 lbs. He was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 2nd round (42nd overall) of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. Dineen officially announced retirement on August 17, 2000.
