Gerry Staley (full name: Gerald Lee Staley; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1947 until 1961 for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Redlegs, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Athletics. He played for the Cardinals from 1947 - 1954, Redlegs in 1955, Yankees from 1955 - 1956, White Sox from 1956 - 1961, Tigers in 1961 and Athletics in 1961. Over 15 seasons, he started 186 games, won 134 games, struck out 727 batters, and had a 3.70 ERA. Born on August 21, 1920 in Brush Prairie, WA, Staley stood 6' 0" and weighed 195 lb. He attended Battle Ground (Brush Prairie, WA) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 20, 1947 and he played his final game on September 25, 1961.
