Geronimo Gil, a Mexico City Red Devils player was born on August 7, 1975 in Oaxaca, Mexico. He was a first baseman for Major Baseball League and a catcher for Triple-A Mexican League. A right-handed batter and thrower, his baseball career began with the Red Devils and played four games in Mexico City in 1995. On February 15, 1996, he was purchased by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also played for San Antonio Missions as a catcher, outfielder and a first baseman. The most notable part of his career with San Antonio Missions was when he ranked fourth in batting average and third in doubles in 1998.
Reviews say he also became a player for Triple-A Rochester Red Wings where he batted .313 and had eight stolen bases against him. Baltimore Orioles purchased him on September 7 and made his debut on the major league the following day. Gil began as a catcher in 17 games out of 22 games in that season. On April 23, 2002, he played his first multi-homer game and hit another amazing home run on April 29, 2002. In 2003, he played mostly for Baltimore but also spent six weeks for Triple-A Ottawa Lynx. As an everyday catcher for the Orioles, he batted .173 and made 3 runs batted in with no home run. He was remarkable for having 681 at-bats without a triple. He returned to the Mexican League in 2008.
