About Gerald Green Memorabilia & Collectibles
Gerald Green is a professional basketball player. He was born in Houston, Texas and went to the J. Frank Double High School where he was able to play basketball. Due to his academics, he had to transfer to the Gulf Shores Academy and recorded an average of 33 ppg, 12 rpg and 3 blocks for each game. Green was an All-American, was the highest pointer for the McDonald’s All-American game in 2005 and won the McDonald’s Slam Dunk Contest in the same year.
He initially decided on going to the Oklahoma State University but then decided to enter the 2005 NBA Draft instead. It was expected that he would be picked during the first picks of the draft but he was selected by the Boston Celtics. He was the 18th overall pick.
After being assigned to a number of minor leagues, he was called to the Celtics in February of his first year and was able to score 13 points during his debut game. After a 10.4 ppg average in the 2006 season, Green was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Green also signed with the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks before being deciding to play Russian Basketball Super League for the Lokomotiv Kuban in 2009.
