Born in Zlin, Czech Republic on August 2, 1973, Zidek stands 7-0 and weighs 250 lbs. He attended high school at Arabska Secondary in Arabska, Czech Republic and college at University of California, Los Angeles. He was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in the 1st round (22nd pick, 22nd overall) of the 1995 NBA draft.
