About George Mikan:
George Mikan (full name: George Lawrence Mikan Jr.; Mr. Basketball) played Center from 1949 until 1956 for the Minneapolis Lakers. Over 7 seasons, he played 439 games, scored 10156 points (23.1 ppg) and grabbed 4167 rebounds (9.5 rpg). Mikan also dished out 1245 assists (2.8 apg), made steals (0.0 spg), and blocked shots (0.0 bpg) during his career. Born in Joliet, Illinois on June 18, 1924, Mikan stood 6-10 and weighed 245 lbs. He attended high school at Quigley Prep in Chicago, Illinois and college at DePaul University. He was inducted into Hall of Fame as Player in 1959.
