George McQuinn (full name: George Hartley McQuinn; no nicknames) played first baseman from 1936 until 1948 for the Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Browns, Philadelphia Athletics and New York Yankees. He played for the Reds in 1936, Browns from 1938 - 1945, Athletics in 1946 and Yankees from 1947 - 1948. Over 12 seasons, he played 1550 games, hit 135 home runs, drove in 832 runs, and stole 32 bases. Born on May 29, 1910 in Arlington, VA, McQuinn stood 5' 11" and weighed 165 lb. He attended Washington & Lee (Arlington, VA) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 14, 1936 and he played his final game on October 2, 1948.
