General Crowder (full name: Alvin Floyd Crowder; General) played pitcher from 1931 until 1936 for the Washington Senators and Detroit Tigers. He played for the Senators from 1931 - 1934 and Tigers from 1934 - 1936. Over 11 seasons, he started 292 games, won 167 games, struck out 799 batters, and had a 4.12 ERA. Born on January 11, 1899 in Winston-Salem, NC (All Transactions), Crowder stood 5' 10" and weighed 170 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on July 24, 1926 and he played his final game on June 22, 1936. Common misspellings of his name include Alvin Alvin Floyd General Crowder.
