Gene Mauch (full name: Gene William Mauch; Skip) played second baseman, shortstop and third baseman from 1944 until 1957 for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, Boston Braves, St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox. He played for the Dodgers from 1944 - 1948, Pirates in 1947, Cubs from 1948 - 1949, Braves from 1950 - 1951, Cardinals in 1952 and Red Sox from 1956 - 1957. Over 9 seasons, he played 304 games, hit 5 home runs, drove in 93 runs, and stole 6 bases. Born on November 18, 1925 in Salina, KS, Mauch stood 5' 10" and weighed 165 lb. He attended Fremont (Los Angeles, CA) high school. His debut was on April 18, 1944 and he played his final game on September 28, 1957.
