Gene Lamont (full name: Gene William Lamont; no nicknames) played catcher from 1970 until 1975 for the Detroit Tigers. He played for the Tigers from 1970 - 1975. Over 5 seasons, he played 87 games, hit 4 home runs, drove in 15 runs, and stole 1 bases. Born on December 25, 1946 in Rockford, IL, Lamont stands 6' 1" and weighs 195 lb. He attended Hiawatha (Kirland, IL) high school and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 1st round (13th pick) of the 1965 amateur draft.
