Gene Conley (full name: Donald Eugene Conley; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1952 until 1963 for the Boston Braves, Milwaukee Braves, Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox. He played for the Braves in 1952, Braves from 1954 - 1958, Phillies from 1959 - 1960 and Red Sox from 1961 - 1963. Over 11 seasons, he started 214 games, won 91 games, struck out 888 batters, and had a 3.82 ERA. Born on November 10, 1930 in Muskogee, OK, Conley stands 6' 8" and weighs 225 lb. He attended Columbia (Richland, WA) high school. His debut was on April 17, 1952 and he played his final game on September 21, 1963. Common misspellings of his name include Donald Eugene Gene Conley.
