Garry Galley is a former professional ice hockey player. He appeared in the National Hockey League from 1984 to 2001. He is currently one of the hosts for the Ottawa radio program “More On Sports” of Team 1200. He was born in Montreal, Quebec.
Galley decided to attend Bowling Green State University where he played hockey. Some of his accomplishments while playing for the hockey team at Bowling Green includes being named into the CCHA All-Star team (in 1983 and 1984) and being named as an NCAA All-American. He was also part of the NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team in 1984.
His jump to professional hockey happened after he was picked by the Los Angeles Kings during the 1983 NHL Entry Draft in the 5th round. Galley went on to spend more than two seasons for the Kings. In February 1987, he was traded to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Al Jensen. He finished the 1986-87 season with Washington and then the entirety of the succeeding season before deciding to sign with the Boston Bruins as a free agent in 1988.
During the 1991 season while playing for the Bruins, Galley was able to play his first NHL All-Star Game. His second one would be in 1994 when he was playing for the Philadelphia Flyers. The 1993-94 season was also his best season after making 60 assists and 70 points. Galley also played for the Buffalo Sabres and then the New York Islanders before announcing his retirement in 2001.

Garry Galley (full name: Garry Galley; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1985 until 2001 for the Los Angeles Kings, Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders. He played for the Kings from 1985 - 2000, Capitals from 1987 - 1988, Bruins from 1989 - 1992, Flyers from 1992 - 1995, Sabres from 1995 - 1997 and Islanders in 2001. Over 17 seasons, he played 1149 games, scored 125 goals, and made 475 assists. Born in Montreal, Quebec on April 16, 1963, Galley stands 6-0 and weighs 202 lbs. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the 5th round (103rd overall) of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft.
