He had played his entire career for the Los Angeles of Anaheim and is a franchise leader in games played, at-bats, and runs batted in.

 

While he was in Kennedy High School in Granada Hills, California, he was a three-sport star in baseball, football, and basketball. He had won two All-Los Angeles City Honors and two all league honors in baseball and helped his team win the Los Angeles City Championship as a junior. During his senior year, he won the All-Los Angeles City honors and All-League honors in Basketball.

 

Anderson finished second in the rookie of the year in the 1995 voting against Marty Cordova of the Minnesota twins and he became a mainstay in the Angels’ lineup. He then had a good career over the next 8 seasons where he accumulated at least 600 at bats every year, breaking 90 RBIs and 20 Home Runs 5 times at the same time compiling a powerful batting average near .300. The Angels then won their first World Series championship in 2002 where Anderson finished 4th in the MVP.
