About Gar Heard:
Gar Heard (full name: Garfield Heard; Gar) played Forward from 1971 until 1981 for the Seattle Supersonics, Chicago Bulls, Buffalo Braves, Phoenix Suns and San Diego Clippers. Over 11 seasons, he played 787 games, scored 6828 points (8.7 ppg) and grabbed 5876 rebounds (7.5 rpg). Heard also dished out 1220 assists (1.6 apg), made 784 steals (1.0 spg), and blocked 780 shots (1.0 bpg) during his career. Born in Hogansville, Georgia on May 3, 1948, Heard stands 6-6 and weighs 219 lbs. He attended high school at Ethel Knight in LaGrange, Georgia and college at University of Oklahoma. He was drafted by the Seattle Supersonics in the 3rd round (6th pick, 40th overall) of the 1970 NBA draft.
