Fritz Ostermueller (full name: Frederick Raymond Ostermueller; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1934 until 1948 for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Browns, Brooklyn Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Red Sox from 1934 - 1940, Browns from 1941 - 1943, Dodgers from 1943 - 1944 and Pirates from 1944 - 1948. Over 15 seasons, he started 246 games, won 114 games, struck out 774 batters, and had a 3.99 ERA. Born on September 15, 1907 in Quincy, IL, Ostermueller stood 5' 11" and weighed 175 lb. He attended Quincy (Quincy, IL) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 21, 1934 and he played his final game on September 30, 1948.
