He had started his career with the Red Sox with a very remarkable 1975 season. It is where Lynn has won the Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year awards. He led the American League in 1975 with power doubles, runs scored, and slugging percentage. Lynn also finished second during the batting race with a blazing .331 average and also grabbed the Gold Glove Award for his good defensive play. Lynn’s Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year double awards was the first ever in the MLB history.
