Fred Kendall (full name: Fred Lyn Kendall; no nicknames) played catcher from 1969 until 1980 for the San Diego Padres, Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox. He played for the Padres from 1969 - 1980, Indians in 1977 and Red Sox in 1978. Over 12 seasons, he played 877 games, hit 31 home runs, drove in 170 runs, and stole 5 bases. Born on January 31, 1949 in Torrance, CA, Kendall stands 6' 1" and weighs 185 lb. He attended Torrance (Torrance, CA) high school and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 4th round of the 1967 amateur draft.
