Fred Bruney (fullname: Frederick Karl Bruney; no nicknames) played Defensive Back from 1953 until 1962 for the San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Rams and Boston Patriots. He played 77 games, intercepted 15 passes and recovered 4 fumbles. Born in Martins Ferry, OH on December 30, 1931, Bruney stands 5'10 and weighs 184 lbs. He attended college at Ohio State. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 3rd round (35th overall) of the 1953 NFL Draft.
