About Frank Williams Memorabilia & Collectibles
Frank Lowell Williams is a former point guard in the National Basketball Association. He played high school basketballat the Manual High School. He led 2 of 4 IHSA class double-A basketball tournaments in 1996 and 1997. In both tournaments, he was named to the 5– player All Tournament Team and became the Illinois Mr. Basketball in 1998. He also played basketball in college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He led the team to a string of NCAA Tournament appearances when he played 3 seasons for the Fighting Illini. Williams was once again named the Big Ten player of the year and got the Chicago Tribune Silver Basketball award in 2000-2001 seasons.
His professional career began when he was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the 2002 NBA Draft and was later acquired by the New York Knicks. He played for only a few games in his 1st season with the Knicks and got a little more time on the court the following season. Williams was then traded to the Chicago Bulls with the Knicks’ new general manager Isiah Thomas’ decision. Since he was popular in the Illini, Williams was expected to compete for being the starting point guard but was unfortunately out of shape and spent the rest of the season as a reserve. The Bulls then declared that they will not re- sign Williams and on October 2005, he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers but was released a few days later.
