Frank Gore is a professional football player who is currently playing for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. He went to Coral Gables High School and was the running back for his high school’s football team. He was able to set a number of records in his school and was a No. 18 prospect nationally.
He decided to attend the University of Miami in 2001 and was able to rack up 575 yards and made 5 touchdowns. Gore earned the distinction of being the Sporting News’ Big East Freshman of the Year. He took part of the 2005 NFL Draft and was picked by the 49ers during the third round of the draft.
During his first season in the NFL, Gore was able to play in 14 games and was a starter for one game. He was able to rush 608 yards and made three rushing touchdowns during his rookie season. It was in the 2006 season when Gore was finally able to carve his niche in the 49ers roster. He was a starter for the entire season and was selected as the NFC Rushing Champion. He was also named to his first Pro Bowl and was selected to be part of the Second Team of the All-Pro. Gore made his second Pro Bowl appearance in 2009.
