Born in Santo Domingo, Domican Republic, Francisco Garcia is a professional basketball player. He is currently playing in the National Basketball Association and is the guard-forward for the Sacramento Kings. He enrolled in the University of Louisville where he played college basketball under the coaching and guidance of Rick Pitino. Garcia played alongside Reece Gaines in Louisville.  

During his third year of playing basketball, Garcia was able to average 15.7 ppg and became instrumental in leading Louisville to the 2005 Final Four. Garcia decided to enter the 2005 NBA Draft instead of finishing college. He was selected by the Sacramento Kings during the first round of the draft. Overall, he was the 23rd pick in the draft.  

Garcia was able to play in 315 career games and was able to start in 76 games. During the 2006 and 2007 seasons, Garcia was able to play in the most games (79 games for each season). However in 2008, he was able to start in 36 games. Also during that season, Garcia was able to register an average of 12.7 ppg.  

In 2005, Garcia was able to play in his first playoffs. After playing in six games, he averaged 2.2 ppg.
