About Fran Healy Memorabilia & Collectibles

Fran Healy is a retired professional baseball player and is currently a broadcaster for MSG Network and Fox Sports. He was a catcher for the Kansas City Royals, San Francisco Giants and the New York Yankees. Healy was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts and went to American International College. Healy was signed as an amateur free agent in 1964 by the Cleveland Indians and is the nephew of MLB player Francis Healy.

Healy played for the farm system of the Cleveland Indians until he was signed by the Kansas City Royals during the 1968 expansion draft. Healy was able to make his MLB debut in 1969 for the Royals. Healy was sent to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for Bob Gribaldi in 1970 but was sent back to Kansas City in 1973. In 1976, Healy was traded to the New York Yankees in exchange for Larry Gura and was released by the team in 1978.

Healy was part of the Yankees team when they were able to win the 1977 World Series. He was there during Steve Busby’s two no-hitters and was the catcher for those two instances. After he retired from playing professionally, Healy worked as a radio broadcaster for the Yankees. Presently, he is the host of “The Game 365”.
