Firpo Marberry (full name: Frederick Marberry; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1931 until 1936 for the Washington Senators, Detroit Tigers and New York Giants. He played for the Senators from 1931 - 1936, Tigers from 1933 - 1935 and Giants in 1936. Over 14 seasons, he started 186 games, won 148 games, struck out 822 batters, and had a 3.63 ERA. Born on November 30, 1898 in Streetman, TX (All Transactions), Marberry stood 6' 1" and weighed 190 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on August 11, 1923 and he played his final game on June 10, 1936. Common misspellings of his name include Firpo Frederick Marberry.
